Springtime colour palette

When one thinks of spring and summer colours, it’s easy to opt for the standard lighter versions of certain colours, plus expected yellows, oranges and pinks. This season though, we’re seeing some unexpected colour palettes being introduced in the latest designer childrenswear collections. Earth tones such as beige, coffee and khaki are remaining from the AW16 trends, with the inclusion of dusky rose and light blue. Girl’s clothes from Kenzo Kids feature a great light blue sweatshirt with the distinctive brand tiger logo, and a light pink cap which is perfect for keeping the sun out of your little girl’s eyes. For special summer occasions we love the Guess brown and beige pleated skirt with sequin and net detailing, which would look stunning teamed with sandals and a vest. Lads who need a smarter summer look should look no further than the Ralph Lauren skinny khaki trousers for a modern update from the regular denim jeans.

Eye-catching prints

Leopard print is such a timeless print which can be incorporated in any child’s wardrobe. You can even get the fun print into unexpected places, such as the insole of shoes! We love the beautiful girls sandals from Guess which feature leopard print insoles with vibrant red or on-trend metallic straps with flower embellishments. Perfect footwear option for a chic mix of edgy and elegant style. Baby girls clothes have also seen a leopard print update with Roberto Cavalli Junior babywear collection including a leopard print hooded sweatshirt with summery flower print. For boys, there’s some excellent new leopard graphic t-shirts in ultra cool grey with stand-out red logo from Roberto Cavalli Junior that are bound to attract attention.

Statement slogans

The slogan t-shirt has been a much loved trend among youngsters for the past year, and this springtime we’re going to see it everywhere. Bright colours on plain white tees make for a statement making look that any kid can get on board with. Paired with jeans and designer trainers, you’ve got a casual springtime look nailed! The Miss Grant summer collection have got some wonderful, full of life pieces on offer for young girls embellished with emojis, love hearts and endearing slogans. Their matching girls trousers and shorts are also perfect for teaming with a plain top to switch the attention to a different area.

The range of Paul Smith Junior boys t-shirts here at Chocolate Clothing completely fit this summer trend of attention catching t-shirts with playful design elements. With the astronaut print t-shirt your little one is able to live out his wildest dreams! The Paul Smith Junior shirts for boys are also excellent for getting in on the exciting print trend, with cute dinosaur print white cotton shirt and a black and red ant printed long sleeve shirt.

Bohemian inspired pieces

Is it even summer without a bohemian or floral dress? We think not, and with our new season Monnalisa range our summer style dreams are realised. Bright shades of primary colours against a navy background on their girls dresses and skirts is so chic and unique. At Chocolate Clothing we love the summer vibes from the Fendi girlswear range, and in particular the wonderful white dress with multicoloured floral print and cute Peter Pan collar. Paired with lilac ballerina pumps from Young Versace, this could be the ideal summer outfit.

We hope you’ve taken some spring/summer outfit inspiration for your little ones with our seasonal trend suggestions of earth colour palettes, exciting prints, statement slogan t-shirts and bohemian inspired clothes for girls and boys. All products are available online or at our Chocolate Clothing store for you to pick up and enjoy for the upcoming summer season.
